Ahhhhh…it’s Friday! And I am FINALLY finding time to update this a little bit.
First and Foremost – Mr. William Brooks Rowe was born on 8/19/08 at 4:24 AM weighing in at 7lb 14ozs and 20 inches long. (people always refer to a baby’s height as length when they are born…shouldn’t it really be 20 inches tall???) He’s a looker. A cutie pie. He looks a lot like my brother in law, only cuter. He has reddish hair and great skin! If I can remember how to get pictures on here, I will put one up. Melissa is doing great. She went into the hospital the morning of the 18th after her water broke……so he took his sweet little time getting here. I cant wait to meet him!!!
On the house forefront – good and bad news – we had an offer, we played the negotiation game and finally settled on a price – accepted the offer – went out and put in an offer and played the negotiation game on a new home for us – only to have our buyer back out on us. Before the home inspection was even done. He was a first time buyer I think and just got a little spooked….which of course you would think (hope) he would have come to terms with before writing an offer on a home…but whatever. So we had to back out of our offer on the home that we had found. We were pretty bummed about that. I know this house will be right for someone, and we will sell, but I would just love to get it over with!!! So we are back to square one…..another open house coming up next weekend.
We just got back from Destin, FL. Our friends Terry and Leslie came with us. Seems like we picked the perfect week to go. While we did have about 2 1/2 days of rain, the week we went was in between two tropical storms…one of which is still raging. We already have plans to go back next year. It was hard to be away from work for so long, and I am STILL in the process of catching up……but I am almost positive it was worth it!
Coming up for The Salomes:
next weekend – open house on the home in Prescott – hoping rell can manage to keep it clean because I will be in San Antonio celebrating the 30th birthday of my best friend Lindsay (we’ve know each other for 25 years! wow) as well as the 1st birthday of her daughter Lauren.
September 11th – Lilly turns 2 already ! we’re not going for the festivities this year……wish we were. With her vocabulary and attitude, you would think the child is turning 12.
End of Sept/ start of Oct – Hopefully I will get to go to boston to meet my favorite nephew.
October 25th – headed to Dallas to throw my good friend Jodi a baby shower. She’s not finding out if it is a boy or a girl – can you believe that! WOW!
Thanksgiving – For the first time since we moved to AZ we are actually going home for Thanksgiving…..largely due to the fact that Melis, Matt & Favorite Nephew Will are coming home. I come in the Saturday before (YAY!!!) and Rell will come in that Wednesday. I wanted to make this a longer trip since we won’t be able to be home for any real amount of time at christmas this year.
So, that’s what is going on with us. Lots of working, and lots of wishing that the house would sell! Thats about it!!
