I will say, now that I have a Blackberry, I find myself getting on line at home less and less – hence the sporadic postings. I mean, if a girl can access her email and perezhilton.com from her phone, what else does she really need??
I don’t know if I have mentioned this or not before, but Prescott, AZ was rated by Money magazine as a top 5 retirement community. Great, right? Yes, if you are over the age of 65 – but since I have 35+ years until I hit retirement, the prestige of living in a top retirement area is totally lost on me. And while with that distinction comes great things – a well cared for community, low crime rate, etc……it also comes with negatives. There are the obvious (a disproportinately small number of young professionals with which to make friends and a disproportinately high number of little white haired ladies who cant see over their steering wheel) there are also the unusual negatives –like costco at Noon on a Wednesday – from where I have just returned. Every single person over the age of 65 was in Costco today enjoying the vartiety of free samples….and don’t get me wrong……Costco free samples are great and really are almost a meal in of themselves…..but seriously, there were probably 8 trillion more people in Costco today that there would be normally, and those 8 trillion people were all hovered around the endcaps, waiting on free samples. And those that werent hovering, waiting for free samples were out in the parking lot hovering, watching people walk to their car and patiently waiting to take their spot – seriously people, I dont think it is going to kill us to walk 10 extra yards. (watch – just because I typed that, someone will get seriously injured this weekend walking from a far out space in the Costco parkign lot!)
The house has been on the market for three weeks now – we got a ton of action that first week. Lots of people wanted to see it….and now it has been dead for the past two weeks. Not one showing since two Fridays ago. I know it’s a down market, but come on – someone can at least LOOK at the house! We’re having an open house this Sunday which will hopefully draw some people in. Prescott, in addition to being a top 5 retirement community, is also home to the World’s Oldest Rodeo, which takes place this week. Hopefully there will be lots of tourists in town – some of who will want a second home – and they will come to our open house, fall in love with our house, and offer over the askign price! Hey, a girl can dream!
